Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant - Funds to join our Fund Accounting Team, with a specific focus on fund and fixed asset accounting. In this role, you will support critical components of the monthly close process, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and play a key role in financial reporting, statutory audits, and internal control assessments.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in accrual accounting and is well-versed in areas such as fixed asset accounting, depreciation, prepaid expenses, revenue recognition, partnership accounting, and consolidation. A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

This position is hybrid and will be located in one of our Centers of Excellence: New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO.


Essential Job Functions

  • Own the accounting and reconciliation of key accounts, including fixed assets, prepaids, intercompany and income statement items.
  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries during the month-end close using our ERP system (Sage Intacct).
  • Ensure timely monthly and quarterly account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Support the preparation of audit schedules and documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to the annual purchase order (PO) conversion and year-end PO reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with accounting managers to improve controls, streamline processes, and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Conduct spot audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls within key processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reporting packages and ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA designation preferred, but not required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed asset accounting.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, including fixed assets, revenue recognition, and consolidation principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Google Workspace preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP systems a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented and accuracy-driven mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • A critical thinker who is proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented.

Physical Demands

  • Primary responsibilities involve regular speaking, listening, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, and reaching with arms.
  • Occasionally, the role may require sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.

Base Salary
$90,000—$100,000 USD
