Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct physical site inspections using a variety of tools and equipment, including but not limited to measuring devices, hand tools, ladders of various types and sizes, blower doors, combustion safety analysis equipment, multi-meters, shade analysis tools, and personal protective equipment.
  • Prepare and upload quality control documentation for photovoltaic (PV) installation sites and energy efficiency upgrades to the shared database.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements. Complete OSHA training as needed.
  • Participate in company-sponsored trainings, workshops, and meetings as required.
  • Assess insulation levels in attics and walls and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct comprehensive home energy evaluations and solar assessments. This includes entering attics, basements, and crawl spaces, climbing ladders, interacting with homeowners, and generating detailed, computerized reports for customers.
  • Inspect the age and condition of HVAC systems, ducts, windows, and weather stripping to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect and document energy usage data by completing a standardized home data collection form.
  • Assist in managing and tracking job progress to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and complete warranty work for PV systems to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, adapting to the needs of the project or task at hand.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear and accurate quality control evaluation documentation and work oversight.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, diagrams, equipment submittals, and material data sheets to support project execution.
  • Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Education/Experience

  • A high school diploma or trade school degree in a field related to construction, building sciences, engineering, or architecture is preferred.
  • Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification or experience in energy efficiency is strongly preferred
  • At least three years of experience in a field related to construction or building sciences is required.
  • Experience in estimating or site auditing is preferred.
  • Photovoltaic installation experience is highly desirable.
  • Customer service experience is preferred, with an emphasis on interacting effectively with homeowners or clients.
  • Proficiency with computers and applications such as MS Office, with the ability and willingness to learn and use technology, including platforms like Dropbox and Salesforce (CRM), across various devices (laptops, tablets, and smartphones).
  • Comfortable working from ladders or scaffolding and in confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or under mobile homes.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks in various working environments without hesitation.
  • General understanding of the installation of energy-saving materials and the tools associated with their application.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation 
  • Willing to move through the pre-employment screening process

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
  • Ability to work in a variety of extreme environmental conditions (e.g., high heat, cold temperatures).
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, ascend/descend stairs, and work on rooftops of multi-level buildings, as well as within confined spaces such as attics.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly be required to speak and hear. The role frequently requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50-70 pounds.
  • The employee will occasionally need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.

Base Salary
$20—$22 USD
